You Have One, Wait, Three Jobs to Do (Bob)
I’ve swapped out my chores and responsibilities from home with a new set of tasks. Instead of working and walking the dogs and doing all the other stuff I do, my daily routine can be boiled into a single task:
- Walk the daily stage
I suppose it could be boiled into a single task, but now that I think about it, that’s simplistic. The core truth is that there are THREE tasks that I need to make sure I do:
- Walk the daily stage
- Take care of our injuries well enough to walk the next day
- Wash the clothes we just wore
That’s pretty much it. I’m not counting eating as a task because that happens so naturally here in Spain. I suppose I could also mention that we sometimes make reservations for where we’re going next, especially if we need to send our bags to the next destination town using a shuttle service, but it isn’t necessary. And neither is blogging.
When we finish the day’s walk, I feel a sense of pride for having done the one key task. Then we shower and wash the clothes we just wore, usually in a sink. After we hang up the clothes, we usually go out for a drink and snack to celebrate.
Tonight we’re staying in a nunnery. After the nuns feed us at 9:00 or so, we’ll head back to our room, fall asleep, and start over the next day.
